ESG Masterclass - session 3

From compliance to value creation – how to grasp the ‘S’ in ESG

How can a company manage its relationships with its own workforce, the political environment, and the societies in which it operates? In this third session of the ESG masterclass, we seek to answer this central question by zooming in on the ‘S’ of the ESG-agenda. We will go through social factors and impacts related to human rights, labour conditions and employee engagement, and provide useful insights into the latest developments within the field. We present new and upcoming regulations related to the ‘S’ as well as practical examples from Danish companies.

You will leave the session with a clearer understanding of:

  • What the ‘S’ of ‘ESG’ comprehends
  • New and upcoming regulation for reporting on the ‘S’ including minimum safeguards in the EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive
  • Core principles of due diligence procedures
  • Dilemmas and challenges that often arise when working with the ‘S’, and how these can affect a company’s performance in other areas
  • How to move from compliance to creating strategic value in the work with social sustainability

As with all the masterclass sessions, the event will be in a workshop format with inspirational talks from the invited experts, facilitated group discussions, and plenty of time for Q&A.

Presentations will be in English. Group discussion will be in either English or Danish based on participants’ language preferences.
