The EU's Future Trade Policy
In collaboration between the Danish EU Presidency, Danish Industry and Think Tank EUROPA, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the conference The EU’s Future Trade Policy.
World trade and investments are becoming more fragmented with higher tariffs and other trade restrictions, insecure supply-chains, increasing state aid and export control for key products and technology. Simultaneously, we also experience a continued export boom from China based on unfair production incentives and an ongoing erosion of WTO rules and regulations.
As many countries now face the consequences of a power-based global trade policy that disregards fundamental international trade rules, the questions arise: How should the EU react to these challenges to defend our trade and our economic security? Can Member States stand united and respond to the pressure from both the US and China? What trade strategy for the future should the EU choose? And what are the expectations and concerns of companies in relation to the EU-US trade agreement and future transatlantic trade and economic relations?
Join us for this timely and important conference, where leading decision-makers, industry leaders, and experts will debate these issues and outline possible paths forward for Europe’s policy on trade and economic security.
Moderator of the conference is Lykke Friis, Director, Think Tank Europa.
