CHINA MARKET INFORMATION
China is the world’s 2nd largest economy and the 3rd largest export market for the Danish food cluster. With a population of 1,4 billion people, China is an attractive market for not only food products but also inputs to the agricultural and food production industries. Denmark is well-known for food safety, and as a supplier of high-quality food across a broad range of products, from pig meat, fish, and dairy to high-end confectionary. This also goes for food ingredients and biosolutions, and for processing and monitoring equipment for food production that is also in demand.
Denmark though, is also well-known as an efficient agricultural producer, and there is a strong interest in Danish agricultural production practices. This provides opportunities for export of sustainable products, ingredients, innovative solutions, high quality grain and genetics.
Lastly, there is an existing and increasing Chinese consumer demand for high-end imported food products, and a number of Danish food exporters are already successful on some of the biggest Chinese e-commerce retail channels.
Denmark already has a significant export of pig meat, fish, seafood, and dairy products to China but there is a demand for much more, and participating in this delegation visit will enable you to learn more about the Chinese market and to get valuable business contacts.
