The Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Export Association and the Danish Trade Council in Algeria are pleased to invite interested companies to join an oil and gas delegation to Algeria in March 2020.

Algeria is one of the largest producers of oil and gas in the world, and in order to modernize its production the Algerian oil and gas sector faces massive investments. This represents a not-to-miss opportunity as Danish companies are known to be the leading providers of state-of-the-art products and solutions for the oil and gas sector. The business delegation will explore the potential of the Algerian oil and gas sector through targeted B2B meetings, site visits and networking opportunities at NAPEC, the largest oil and gas fair in North Africa.

With over 42 million citizens and large reserves of oil and gas, Algeria is an interesting market for Danish companies. The Algerian oil and gas market is estimated to be worth between USD 6 and 14 billion with annual exports of USD 39 billion. On a global scale, Algeria has the third   largest reserves of shale gas and the seventh largest reserves of shale oil.

The Algerian Government is planning to exploit unconventional sources in 10-12 years. This requires massive investments, and the state-owned enterprise Sonatrach, which owns all production in Algeria, plans on investing USD 56 billion between 2019 and 2023. Here 70 per cent would be spent on E&P activities. The first offshore well was drilled in 2019, and there are a.o. plans to build a new refinery in Hassi Messaoud and to extend the Skikda Refinery.

By joining this business delegation, you will get direct access to Sonatrach, a highly motivated buyer, as well as key decision makers in the Algerian Ministry of Energy. Moreover, you will get the opportunity to network with relevant buyers from all over North Africa during the visit to the NAPEC Fair.  As such, this business delegation serves as an excellent platform for exploring business opportunities and expanding existing business in Algeria.

Sonatrach and the Algerian Ministry of Energy are looking to engage with leading Danish companies. The business delegation is relevant for all companies operating in the oil and gas sector and will be especially relevant for companies specialized in exploration and production (E&P) as the Algerian Government is looking to expand production.
