Why Japan?

The Japanese market for imported food and agribusiness is highly developed, with a strong demand for high-quality and diverse products.

Japanese consumers are increasingly focused on food safety, sustainability, and premium offerings, making it essential for foreign companies to meet these standards. The demand for organic, environmentally friendly, and traceable products is growing, which creates an opportunity for Danish companies to leverage their reputation for quality and innovation. Danish products, especially in dairy, meat, fish and beverages, are well-regarded in Japan. In addition, Japan's ageing population and busy lifestyles contribute to rising interest in convenient and nutritious food options. As such, companies offering products focusing on health benefits, convenience, and ethical production have a competitive edge in the market.

Danish products and solutions are well-regarded in Japan as Denmark has a historically strong standing in Japan. Over the years Danish companies have proven reliable as partners to the Japanese stakeholders. This creates an effective basis for enhancing and creating new cooperation.
