MODERNISING THE AGRI INDUSTRY IN TAIWAN

Taiwan pig production industry is at a turning point, expecting to transform from polluted and low productivity to modern and sustainable production.

The Taiwan Government announced a coming four-year budget of TWD 12.96 billion equivalent to DKK 2.855 billion allocated for modernisation of pig production and pig slaughterhouses, including the introduction of HACCP standards to pig slaughterhouses.

This will be the biggest initiative and the largest budget amount to support the transformation of pig industry.  In October 2021, Taiwan  proposed a draft amendment which would strive for net zero emissions by 2050.
