Turkmenistan - a New Market
Meet the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and learn about emerging business opportunities in the oil, gas and energy sectors.

On Wednesday 30 October, Mr. Vepa Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will visit the Confederation of Danish Industry to discuss new business opportunities in the country. We invite you to join a roundtable meeting with the minister.
According to the Trade Council in Russia, Turkmenistan is slowly changing and becoming a more attractive country with increasing business opportunities within the oil, gas and energy sectors. The Deputy Minister’s visit to Denmark and to DI serves partly as an opportunity to look for Danish companies who are able to provide the newest technology and solutions within production, processing and transportation of oil and gas including secure transportation, increasing energy efficiency and better exploitation of the country’s natural resources in general.
In Turkmenistan, there is an abundance of oil and gas - resources that take up 85% of the country’s export income. According to the World Bank, Turkmenistan has the 4th largest gas reserves representing around 10% of the global reserves. With the development of new oil and gas fields, and with the intention to diversify its oil and gas exports, Turkmenistan strives to maximize value for this sector.
Turkmenistan is an often-overlooked country with a population of almost 6 million, and an annual GDP growth that has stabilized around 6.5% over the past 4 years. Turkmenistan has a strategic, geographical location connecting Europe and Asia, and the country is most importantly ready to import innovative technologies and equipment to upgrade the country to neighboring standards.
