Business Delegation to Vibrant Gujarat 2022

DI and The Danish Embassy in India together with the Danish Chamber of Commerce invite Danish companies to participate in a business delegation to Vibrant Gujarat 2022 led by the Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Simon Kollerup

Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Mr. Simon Kollerup, will lead a business delegation to the 2022 Vibrant Gujarat (VG) event held on the 10-12 January 2022. Denmark has become a partner country at the VG event.

The global summit VG has evolved into one of the world’s main investment summits and is a must for companies interested and active in India. The VG 2022 will be opened and presented by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

The overall focus of this year's summit is sustainability. This fits perfectly into the unique Green Strategic Partnership Agreement between India and Denmark.

The Danish presence at VG 22 will take a narrow focus on Green Energy and Sustainable Maritime.

The delegation will feature exciting site visits, countries seminars, networking arrangements and B2B meetings.

Green energy

Prime Minister Modi has on numerous occations signalled the preference to accelerate green energy and sustainability in India, focus areas of VG 2022. India has identified Denmark as a close partner in its green transition. Danish know-how, technology and Danish companies can deliver in areas where India has needs.

In addition to traditional renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, India has recently focused on the production of green hydrogen through Power to X technologies. An agreement has been made during the last visit by the Danish Prime Minister in India on the production of green hydrogen with Danish technology.

India has set a target to achieve 40 pct. reduction of energy in the maritime sector through renewable sources by 2030. To reduce environmental pollution, Indian ports have started multiple initiatives within green energy, such as driving solar and wind energy adoption and creating a portal for waste management.

Denmark is one of the largest maritime nations in the world, and Danish companies are known for being frontrunners in sustainability and green transition. Danish companies therefore have the potential to make a huge difference in transforming the Indian maritime sector.
