India Water Week

Danish Industry and The Royal Danish Embassy invite you to take part in a delegation to the India Water Week Event in New Delhi, combined with activities in Karnataka-state.

New Delhi

India Water Week 2026 is a significant event that showcases India’s rapid expansion and modernisation of its water infrastructure. This includes rural and urban water supply, wastewater treatment, and the restoration of water bodies.

Denmark will take the spotlight as the partner country. This means, among other things, that a country session will be hosted, focusing on water supply and waste management. The session provides Danish companies with the chance to present their solutions and case studies to high-level government officials from various Indian states. Additionally, Denmark has been offered the opportunity to set up a small exhibition area to showcase these solutions.

Karnataka

Following the programme in New Delhi, the delegation will continue to Karnataka, one of India’s fastest-growing urban regions and a priority state for water sector investments. This visit will build on the recent engagement between Karnataka’s water authorities and Denmark focused on smart water infrastructure; modernisation of sewage treatment plants, reuse of treated wastewater for industrial purposes, source sustainability and rejuvenation, digital governance, infrastructure efficiency, and urban flood management.

The Market Perspective

India’s water infrastructure expansion: The Jal Jeevan Mission has increased rural piped drinking water access from 17% to over 80% of households since 2019, with an extension to 2028 and an estimated USD 100 billion investments, backed by state programmes and international financing such as the World Bank.

Growing demand for advanced water technologies: Rising urbanisation and industrial activity increase pressure on water resources, driving demand for efficient operations, energy optimisation, smart water management, and circular water solutions.
