Minnesota–Denmark Business Forum 2026

Minnesota is a natural partner for Danish companies. The state shares Denmark’s strengths in health innovation, clean energy and advanced industry, while the commercial relationship between the two markets is already well established.

In 2025, Minnesota imported goods worth USD 321 million from Denmark, while exports to Denmark reached USD 76 million. Trade includes medical and control instruments, machinery, electronic components and electrical equipment.

A hub for health innovation

Minnesota is home to Mayo Clinic, Medical Alley, more than 1,000 healthcare technology companies and over 500 medical device businesses – offering a strong platform for companies in healthtech, medtech and life science.

Driving the energy transition

Minnesota has strengths within renewable energy, energy efficiency, biofuels and sustainable transportation. The state is part of the Heartland Hydrogen Hub and has a target for all electricity supplied to retail customers to come from carbon-free resources by 2040.
