Seminar: Nearshoring in Mexico

The Confederation of Danish Industry and Latin America Business Forum in Denmark are pleased to invite Danish companies to a seminar on “Nearshoring” in Mexico. The COVID-19-era, global supply chain disruptions and changes to the global economy are causing companies to reexamine their sourcing options - and relocating to Mexico is often an appealing solution.

Nearshoring trends make Mexico attractive for foreign investment in key sectors such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy (including renewables) and technology.

Mexico is considered the 15th largest economy in the world, and the leading exporter in the Latin America. Join this seminar and learn more about the increasingly attractive destination of nearshore investments for many European companies looking to de-risk and shorten supply chains.

Many manufacturers based in the EU have previously been successful with nearshoring in Eastern Europe, specifically to support their Northern European clients. Now, the trend is being duplicated in Mexico to support their North American sales.

The Mexican government has made important changes to entice European companies to set up their production in the country, including a commitment to improving its infrastructure, as well as general security, in order to help manufacturers operate free from disruption.

In addition to the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which substituted the former North America Free trade agreement (formerly known as NAFTA), Mexico has several dozen other trade agreements in place, such as allowing foreign companies to import raw materials free from tax and duty. Mexico signed a Free Trade Agreement with the EU in 2000 making it an export-oriented manufacturing hub for countries hoping to reduce their manufacturing costs.

Join this seminar and learn about Mexico as a destination for Nearshoring.
