ExpoBiogaz 2026 - Lyon
Join the official Danish pavilion at ExpoBiogaz 2026 - drive the future of renewable gases in France and lead the European biogas landscape.
With approximately 1.800 biogas plants, France stands as Europe’s third largest biogas market and offers significant growth potential in the coming years. To achieve its ambitious 2030 biogas targets, France aims to more than triple both domestic biogas production and grid injection volumes. This development makes large-scale methanization inevitable and places Danish companies as attractive partners for France’s upcoming transition phase.
ExpoBiogaz is an excellent opportunity to explore the future of renewable gases in France, connect with leading domestic and international industry players, and demonstrate how Danish innovation can contribute to this transition.
ExpoBiogaz 2026 have a strong focus on biogas solutions and market trends, as well as insights into upcoming methanization projects. The event also offers opportunities to partner with agricultural federations and to discuss strategies for navigating both agricultural and industrial methanization projects.

Facts
- France is at the forefront of the EU biogas landscape, with 1.800 biogas plants producing 13 TWh of biogas in 2024. After Germany and Italy, it is the third largest European market.
- With these strong figures, France remains among the EU countries with significant growth potential. The country's biogas ambitions are clearly outlined in the French energy policy for 2025–2035, with ambitious targets for both biogas production and biomethane injection into the gas grid:
- By 2030, France aims to produce 50 TWh of biogas annually, accounting for 15% of the country’s total gas consumption (currently 4%).
- By 2030, France also plans to inject 44 TWh of biomethane into the gas grid (currently 3%).
These 2030 targets represent a 3.4-fold increase in biogas production and a 3.6-fold increase in biogas injection into the grid compared to current levels.
To achieve these goals, large-scale methanization is essential. This positions Denmark as a preferred partner, offering extensive experience and technology in large-scale methanization, biomethane upgrading, and grid injection. Danish companies thus have an excellent opportunity to strengthen their market position in France by leveraging Denmark’s proven track record in biogas.
Who Should Attend?
This delegation is ideal for Danish businesses, research groups and public-sector institutions involved in:
- Anaerobic digestion, biomethane upgrading, bioNGV / sustainable mobility.
- Technology providers and engineering firms specialising in gas-injection, CHP systems, process automation.
- Agri-industrial operators and waste-to-energy firms leveraging circular economy models.
- Municipalities, energy utilities and local authorities advancing renewable-gas strategies and infrastructure.
- Consultants, project developers and financing institutions active in clean energy and sustainable gas markets.
We look forward to guiding Danish participants through this key European event, supporting your strategy to engage globally and shape the renewable-gas landscape.
