CCUS & H2 Market Development Day in Kiel

Carbon, Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) is gaining growing attention in Germany. Germany is harbouring great potential for the use of CO2 capture technologies, transport, and storage. Simultaneously Germany will be a key market for green hydrogen from Denmark as soon as the needed hydrogen infrastructure is established.

Therefore, Danish Industry, the Embassy in Berlin and Danish Energy Export are organising a two-part event focusing on H2 and CCUS market ramp-up, including the needed infrastructure between Germany and Denmark.

Learn more about the second event here.

The first event will take place in Kiel in Northern Germany 22 October. The day will focus on political exchanges on the regulation and infrastructure needed for scaling up the CCUS economy and exporting green hydrogen to Germany, but also how Danish and German private stakeholders can work together in advancing the green transition. This includes the potential for large German emitters to store CO2 in Danish storage facilities and the different options of transportation and infrastructure of CO2 and H2.

Kiel is an ideal location to meet, as the government of Schleswig-Holstein is crucial for decisions regarding CCUS and H2 infrastructure development between Germany and Denmark.

Furthermore, it is planned that a high-level representative of Denmark will accompany the delegation to secure high-level participation from German officials and other stakeholders – this is to be announced.
