High-Level Danish Delegation to Lithuania on Energy, Security and Space

In parallel with the official State Visit to Lithuania by His Majesty King Frederik X and Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark, the Embassy of Denmark in Vilnius, Danish Industry and Danish Chamber of Commerce are pleased to invite Danish companies to a high-level business forum focusing on Energy, Security & Space. The business forum will be followed by B2B meetings.

Danish companies are invited to join a delegation to Lithuania focusing on Energy, Security, and Space. The delegation will spend two days in Vilnius, the first day will feature a high-level business forum, and the second day will consist of B2B meetings.

The Business Forum will bring together leading companies, policymakers, and innovators to explore how green transition and national security reinforce one another in today’s geopolitical context. For Lithuania, the shift toward renewable energy is no longer solely a climate objective - it has become a strategic foundation of national security and resilience. Denmark’s world-leading competence in wind, energy infrastructure, defence technologies, and emerging space solutions positions it as a natural partner in these efforts. Hence, the overall purpose of this forum is to highlight the commercial opportunities where the two countries’ strengths intersect: resilient energy systems, defence and security, critical-infrastructure security, dual-use technological innovation, and space-based services supporting both climate goals and defence awareness. Together, Lithuania and Denmark can advance a future-oriented ecosystem that strengthens independence, competitiveness, and long-term security.

Denmark is already heavily engaged in Lithuania’s energy sector, creating solid prospects for deeper cooperation at a time when the green transition has become central to competitiveness, resilience, and security. For Lithuania, renewables and energy-efficiency measures are now key elements of sovereignty: the decision to end Russian energy imports in 2022 reflected a commitment to a diversified, decentralised, and secure energy system less exposed to geopolitical shocks and cyber risks. With Denmark recognised as both a regional and global leader in green technologies and innovation, both countries have strong potential to expand collaboration across renewables, green hydrogen, infrastructure, and energy-efficiency solutions.

At the same time, Lithuania is rapidly strengthening its defence posture. Defence spending will rise from 3.9% of GDP in 2025 to over 5.38% from 2026 onward, with nearly half devoted to equipment - well above NATO’s benchmark. The planned permanent deployment of a German brigade by 2027 further highlights Lithuania’s strategic importance on NATO’s eastern flank. These investments align with fast-growing Baltic defence capabilities shaped by the war in Ukraine. Lithuania leads the international demining coalition and, together with its neighbours, is advancing drone production, communications, surveillance, reconnaissance, laser technologies, and cyber defence. Regional initiatives such as the “drone wall,” and deeper cooperation in logistics, maritime industries, and munitions production, reflect a broader push toward strengthening Baltic and European security.
