Offshore Wind Delegation to France
Join the Danish delegation to Nantes, Pays de la Loire and Seanergy, 19-21 May 2026, to meet with the French offshore wind ecosystem.
France has just released a new ambitious policy for Offshore wind ! With 15 GW of installed capacity by 2035 and 45 GW by 2050, France is now one the biggest Offshore wind market in Europe and worldwide. One of its region, Pays de la Loire, is home to different industries as the region and especially its capital Nantes is a hub for bottom-fixed offshore wind. This location combines industrial strength and advanced infrastructures, and is home to maritime and shipbuilding, renewable energy industries (wind, solar, and hydrogen). Moreover, the Port of Nantes–Saint-Nazaire is a major logistics hub for bulk cargo, industrial goods, and increasingly, wind turbine components.
Seanergy is France’s leading marine renewable energy forum. It moves around but will in 2026 be hosted in Nantes. Seanergy brings together over 4.000 stakeholders including industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to drive advancements in offshore wind, tidal, wave and marine energy technologies.
In terms of port infrastructure, Port of Nantes–Saint-Nazaire is France’s 4th largest seaport and is a significant gateway for offshore wind logistics. Spanning over 65 km along the Loire estuary features dedicated facilities for renewable energy components, including a 12–15-hectares of pre-assembly zone developed to support the commissioning of the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm.
With this background, we together with the Embassy of Denmark in Paris, are organizing a three-day delegation to the region Pays de la Loire, where we will visit Seanergy fair and through a tailormade programme visit key stakeholders in the region, including developers, port authority, and regulators.
More information on the region
Saint Nazaire: Home to the first commercial offshore wind farm (approximately 1GW from A01/A02 tenders) and central industrial hub (Chantiers de l’Atlantique) relevant for the entire Danish value chain on wind to connect.
Noirmoutier offshore wind project: Located in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coasts of the Noirmoutier and Yeu island, the offshore wind farm has an installed capacity of 488 MW. This is enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of close to 800.000 people annually, which is roughly the entire population of the Vendée department. The late spring of 2025 began the first installations of the first turbines.
A strong regional and economic support via the NEOPOLIA cluster: with a huge network in the field of OSW, the agency facilitates the market entry and establishment for companies at different levels.
