High-level Board Conference 2026

Danish Industry (DI) convenes Chairs, Vice Chairs and CEOs from Denmark’s largest companies and foundations to a high-level conference on Board Governance.

Geopolitics have become an inevitable factor in board governance. Shifting power balances, debates on resilience, concerns about trade wars, sanctions, new technologies and ideological demands directly influence companies’ opportunities and responsibilities. Complex implications of China’s global ambitions, changes in US foreign policy, and Europe’s strategic difficulties entail new risks, create new paths and raise additional questions for boards to address; business meets politics at an unprecedented scale. These new territories challenge the traditional framework for strategic decision making of professional boards.

Together with your peers and leading professional experts, we will explore how geopolitics shape and affect board governance in present time.

The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, will share his perspectives on how global developments are rewriting the boardroom agenda as we speak, and why, more than ever, new territories challenge the traditional framework for strategic decision making of professional boards.

Bo Lidegaard will talk about business at risk and how to understand and respond to the evolving threat picture.

Marianne Kirkegaard, Managing Director at RHÔNE Group and Chair at Pandora, will share how macroeconomic and economic volatility affects us as boards of directors and managers and how you make sense of it.

Dr. Katharina Hefter, Global Lead on Risk and Compliance at BCG, will challenge our approach to risk management, bringing concrete advice on proactive strategies in a world marked by geopolitics and technological transformation.

The programme also includes a dynamic panel where leading board chairs such as Dorothea Wenzel, Susanne Juhl and Niels Smedegaard will share their perspectives and current dilemmas from the boardroom.

Join us for a light dinner in the atrium - an exclusive opportunity for informal networking with fellow top board leaders.

The conference is organised in cooperation with Spencer Stuart and the Board Leadership Society.

Please note that this invitation is personal.
