Webinar on the German Hydrogen Strategy

Join us for a Webinar on the German Hydrogen Strategy and the potentials of the Danish-German cooperation in the field.

Germany is betting big on hydrogen as a “wundermittel” for the green transition of its heavy industry. This is evidenced by the ambition of national production of hydrogen in the order of 10 GW by 2030, but also by the large-scale hydrogen import strategy that the federal government has announced (but not yet financed). The fact is that the industry’s expected import needs far exceed the possibilities for self-sufficiency, and that any imports from third countries at competitive prices have long prospects. Denmark offers itself in this context as an obvious partner, which is emphasized by our surplus potential for renewable energy and the recently adopted agreement on cross-border hydrogen infrastructure between Ministers Aagaard and Habeck.

But where does Germany currently stand with regards to the implementation of the national hydrogen strategy? How are the plans regarding establishment of H2 Infrastructure? And what are the opportunities for Danish actors to engage in the German hydrogen economy?

These are some of the questions that will be debated during the webinar. As part of the webinar we will furthermore get a presentation on the upcoming BeyondGas conference (Oldenburg, September 2023).

Workshop with German Government and Danish companies:

The German government has approached us with an opportunity to conduct workshops regarding the opportunity to take part in a government funded research program. Currently market leaders are interviewed on their success factors and positions on the build out of the H2 industry in and around the North Sea. They have done workshops in the surrounding North Sea countries, and are yet to conduct for Denmark. During the workshop "Success factors for offshore H2 ramp-up in the North Sea", attendees will jointly formulate key messages to regulators, politics and the national supply-chain on how to accelerate the development and deployment of offshore hydrogen in the North Sea. The survey and workshops aim to capture the views and opinions of experts and stakeholders of the hydrogen and offshore industry on a country-level around the North Sea.
