Powering up: The electrified EU - Danish Presidency of the EU council 2025

The Danish Presidency of the EU-Council 2025
From 1 July to 31 December 2025, Denmark will hold the presidency of the EU Council, which means the Danish government and ministries will lead the negotiations on the council's mandates on the legislation and regulation being considered during those six months. Additionally, the Danish EU presidency will be a unique opportunity and platform for setting important agendas from other Danish stakeholders, including Danish Industry (DI) in a broader European context. As part of the Danish EU Presidency, several important EU agendas within energy are expected to be prioritized for Danish businesses in 2025, including the upcoming “Electrification Action Plan,” “Action Plan for Affordable Energy Prices,” and a “Clean Energy Investment Strategy.”

Powering European Industry
In connection with the Danish EU presidency, DI will ensure that competitiveness is the driving agenda, including maintaining high European green ambitions where electrification is a crucial driver. It will be essential that DI, in collaboration with our European network of sister organizations and decision-makers in Denmark and Brussels, can ensure the right impact on the energy agenda.

Member workshop
DI invites you to this member workshop to secure input and dialogue regarding the European energy agenda in 2025. The purpose of the meeting is to prepare you for the key priorities before, during, and after the Danish EU presidency on energy and to gather the most important input from Danish companies on the principles, solutions, and specific legislation to be high-lighted. The workshop and dialogue will be part of DI's work on the energy agenda in a European context – particularly with a focus on the European Electrification Strategy, Action Plan for Affordable Energy Prices, and ensuring investments in the European energy system. We aim to highlight both specific political messages and initiatives that adapt legislation to the future we face.
