Recap: Folkemødet 2026

As always, DI Biosolutions were present at Folkemødet, where we hosted four debates, a reception and partnered the scene “Danmark i morgen”, Denmark tomorrow.
We fermented the future of prepping with Tina Fanø from Novonesis, Claus Stig Pedersen from DLG and Sofie Carsten Nielsen. They showcased how we can build a resilient and sustainable future with fermentation, and what it takes to get there. The overarching question: How can we use some of the oldest food techniques to build the society of the future?
We debated how Denmark’s future politicians, the youth parties, would construct a political framework for the future. How can we make sure that we have a strong biosolutions, life science and digital sector? A strong panel of experts picked a winner, and celebrations were in order.
We invited our members Inter Biosolutions, Nordic Microbes and Green2x to a pitch session unlike the usual. The investors? Around 20 young danes, all with no knowledge of biosolutions or investing in companies. Nordic Microbes won the session and the trophy, but most importantly, the young people were enlightened by the innovations, proving that sustainable growth is possible and a part of the future of biosolutions.
Lastly, we covered the road to 2030, and how we can get biosolutions on the shelves in the supermarket. SUMM Ingredients, LIDL and Madkulturen covered what it takes to make fermented greens more attractive than crisps, and how price-parity, the EU and marketing all play a role.

Folkemødet is the biggest annual assembly of decision-makers, business leaders, researchers, investors and interest organizations.
