It is time for a national strategy on biosolutions
Jobs, growth and a greener production is the potential, and Denmark needs a national strategy on biosolutions to get there.
34.000 jobs and 10 billion EUR is at stake. And Denmark is at a crossroads. One path leads to growth, emission reductions and a global position as the leading biosolutions nation. Denmark next growth succes.
But leadership positions are never guaranteed. China and the US are investing heavily in the biosolutions-sector and they are competing for the future as a biosolutions-hub.
We need to choose a path. The future will not wait.
If the Danish government wants to continue being a green hub for future technologies, we need a national strategy for biosolutions. A framework for future legislation paving the way for growth, jobs and the green transition driving technology and science forward. The sector needs a visionary and ambitious approach, investing in our position as a world-class biosolutions-nation.
Investing in world class research, access to capital, faster approval-processes and access to TDU-facilities are some of our recommendations for a national strategy, which would help the sector meet the potential. But the government also needs to work actively with the Danish Growth Team on agriculture and biosolutions to ensure the needs of the sector.
We need to choose a path. In DI Biosolutions, we are rooting for growth, resilience and a future based on biosolutions. But the window of opportunity will not be open indefinitely. We need action now.
