The Copyright Directive

Approaches to implementation in the EU countries

The seminar is arranged by RettighedsAlliancen (RightsAlliance, RA) and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI).

Midway through the Danish implementation process, the seminar will provide participants with an update on the general status in the EU for the implementation of the Copyright Directive, in particular the well-known and discussed Article 17 and the responsibilities suggested for the Online Content Service Providers. Besides an EU overview the seminar will focus on the implementation process in a number of other EU member states to learn about approaches, do’s and don’t’s related to the implementation process.

The seminar gives participants a perspective on the implementation and discussion of the role of the Online Content Service Providers that the participants can use:

- In the Government’s forthcoming consultation process and public debate

- To make the law makers aware of the main issues related to the implementation

- To promote a constructive dialogue between stakeholders about the practical implications of the new legislation

The seminar follows up on a seminar in September 2019 on platform responsibility and the Danish implementation of the Copyright Directive Article 17.
