Driving a True European Energy Union

Driving a True European Energy Union towards a secure, competitive and sustainable Europe. Here you will find concrete proposals from Danish Industries, Irish Business and Employers Confederation and Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation

Danish, Cypriot and Irish businesses are committed to the European Union’s objective of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and are prepared to act. We believe in a future EU where a competitive and decarbonised energy system goes hand in hand. However, decisive political action is needed to ensure a more supportive and enabling environment for businesses given the scale of transformation required in the next few years. A renewed focus on energy cost competitiveness and accelerating infrastructure delivery is also vital to ensuring Europe remains a destination for capital investment and home for sustainable and competitive industries.

Denmark, Cyprus and Ireland will each hold the Presidency of the Council in succession, carrying a shared responsibility to drive comprehensive reform of EU energy policy. This collaboration promotes a unified approach to EU energy policy, ensuring strategies are aligned beyond national interests towards driving a True European Energy Union.
