Baden-Württemberg Denmark Energy Meeting

Meet German energy stakeholders on inspirational visit to Denmark.

Baden-Württemberg
BW is Germany’s 3rd largest state situated in the Southwest of the country with a population around 11 million people. The wealthy state is known for its industry and innovation. The state government is led by the Green Party in a coalition with CDU.

The state is known as an ambitious early-mover in the green energy transition. In February 2023, the state adopted a climate act and now works to achieve its targets to reduce CO2 emissions by 65 % in 2030 compared to 1990 and to become carbon neutral by 2040.

Partnership with Denmark
Denmark and BW have engaged in a partnership related to green energy transition for years. The partnership involves the Danish Energy Agency and Embassy of Denmark sharing knowledge with BW authorities on best practices and it is backed up by business engagement on both sides.

Now, a delegation led by Thekla Walker, Minister for the Environment, Climate Protection and Energy Sector will visit Denmark seeking inspiration in energy (heating, power-to-X and CCS) and water – both to reaffirm the existing official partnership and to take new steps in the collaboration.

Programme: Focus on heating, PtX and CCS
This meeting will be hosted by DI Energy and enable member companies to learn more about the energy transition in BW, the needs and opportunities arising from it. Further, it is possible to dialogue and network with the German participants with a particular focus on heating, power-to-X and CCS. The draft programme and list of German participants is enclosed.
