Biomass and District Heating – France
13.15-14.00
Biomass – fuelling decarbonization of district heating and industry in France
Background
Solid biomass is the first source of renewable energy in France, making up to 33% of the renewable energy produced in France. It is especially the key to decarbonize the heating sector in France for district heating and industries.
France has ambitious development targets to develop further district heating schemes and increase the renewable energy that they deliver. As solid biomass is at the interface of different challenges and strategies, we will go through the trends of the market for energy production in France with specific focus on the opportunities in district heating and industry sectors.
