Wind Energy - Fighting Misinformation about Wind

Credible, constructive and efficient ways to bust myths and misconceptions

Public debate around wind energy is increasingly shaped by misinformation, unverified claims, and emotionally driven narratives. Across Europe, myths about health impacts, biodiversity, economics, and grid stability continue to influence public perception and political decision-making. 

This workshop explores some of the most common misinformation narratives surrounding wind energy and examines why they spread so effectively. Using examples from several European countries, participants will gain insight into how misinformation affects public acceptance and the broader energy transition. 

The session will also focus on practical responses and collaboration. How can companies, industry organisations, and communicators address misinformation in a credible and constructive way? As an interactive workshop, the session will include discussion and exchange of experiences, with a focus on identifying opportunities for joint initiatives and stronger cooperation across the sector.
