OPPORTUNITIES IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN INDIA

Background
The governments of Denmark and India have committed to a green strategic partnership—enabling India to benefit from Danish experience and technologies in its pursuit of economic growth and prosperity while striving for carbon reductions and climate neutrality in the long term. The partnership facilitates exchanges and collaborative efforts in the energy sector, and a series of initiatives at both the public and private levels are unfolding. But how can India’s green ambitions be transformed into sound green business for Danish exporters and investors?

This session provides an overview of the Green Strategic Partnership between Denmark and India and takes a deep dive into energy efficiency, the market perspectives in India and experience of Danish exporters engaged in this field in India – a field set to grow significantly in the coming years as more than 50% of the urban infrastructure that India will need by 2050 has not yet been built and cooling demand in residential and office buildings is expected to reach 40% of urban electricity consumption in the future. Further, the large buildout of data centers brings energy efficiency top of mind in India.
