This recommendation also affects the industry. The government urges the business community to assist in containing the infection by keeping employers and employees in domestic isolation for 14 days, if they return from the affected areas. This applies even though they have not been in direct contact with infected persons. Furthermore, the companies have been requested to pay salary to their staff during the mentioned period.

DI urges the companies to follow the government’s recommendations. We know that many companies have already announced that their employees must work from home if they return from one of the affected areas. The employees shall get their usual pay, if the company follows the authorities’ recommendation about sending them home as a precaution. If the employee’s job function allows working from home, this can also be agreed.

As per 3 March, the Danish Health Authority recommended staying at home for a period of 14 days after leaving one of these affected areas:

• China: The entire country, except Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
• South Korea: The Gyeongbuk Province and Daegu City.
• Iran: The entire country.
• Italy: The regions of Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto.
