What to expect?
Danish Defence Industry Day (DDID) 2026 brings together policymakers, authorities, the Armed Forces and the defence industry for a full day focusing on security, defence policy and industrial capabilities in a rapidly changing geopolitical environment.
Against the backdrop of Russia’s war against Ukraine, heightened interest in the Arctic, and increasing international insecurity, DDID 2026 explores how Denmark and the Danish defence industry contribute to strengthening national resilience, allied cooperation and military capabilities. The conference features high‑level political keynotes, international perspectives and discussions on defence, technology and industrial capacity.
DDID 2026 takes place the day before DALO Industry Days (DALO Days), allowing participants to combine strategic political and industrial discussions at DDID with the more operational and capability‑focused engagements at DALO Days. Together, the two events make the week a key meeting point for defence stakeholders in Denmark.
Moderator
The conference is moderated by Mathilde Kimer, journalist and senior foreign correspondent with extensive experience covering international security, Russia and Eastern Europe.
Widely recognised for her reporting on Russia’s war against Ukraine and broader geopolitical developments shaping Europe’s security landscape, Mathilde Kimer brings both deep subject‑matter insight and journalistic sharpness to the programme. She ensures a clear common thread across keynotes, panels and debates, challenges speakers with well‑informed questions and actively involves the audience.
What do I need to know?
DDID 2026 will take place on 18 August at MCH Herning Kongrescenter.
The event will start at 10.00 am and end at 10.00 pm after a drinks reception and a joint networking dinner. Everything is included in the price.
