Upcoming delegations to African markets

“We are seeing growing interest from companies looking towards the African continent,” says Jens Holst-Nielsen, Deputy Director responsible for market development at DI.

For many companies, delegation visits are a practical way to get closer to new markets, decision-makers, and potential business partners. That is also true across Africa, where interest is rising in both established markets and emerging opportunities as part of broader international growth strategies.

A stronger starting point

At DI, delegation visits are part of a wider international effort to help companies turn market interest into concrete business opportunities. The aim is not only to open doors, but also to create the right meetings, strengthen market understanding, and give companies a clearer sense of local conditions before they decide how to enter or expand in a market.

“A delegation visit gives companies a stronger starting point,” Jens Holst explains. “It is about combining insight, access and dialogue, so companies can focus on promoting their product and solutions as well as exploring opportunities for entering into local business partnerships.”

According to Jens, DI’s work with delegations is built around relevance and preparation. The goal is to bring together companies, local stakeholders, and decision-makers in a way that creates meaningful conversations and follow-up opportunities.

“Delegations are not only about travelling to a market but about structuring the right framework for business development before, during and after the visit”, Jens adds.
