COP16 Event: Public private partnership - how can "The Danish model" accelerate biodiversity actions - locally and globally?
The role of public-private partnership in accelerating biodiversity action. Lessons from Denmark, Colombia and the wider context are shared and discussed at the Chamber of Commerce in Cali (Cámara de Comercio de Cali) on Saturday, October 26th from 5PM-6PM local time.
At COP 16 in Colombia Danish Industry together with WWF Denmark are inviting all interessted to participate in a panel debate on public private partnerships accelerating biodiversity action.
All economic activity depends on nature to some degree. At the same time, global biodiversity is being lost at an unprecedented rate, largely due to company operations. Although businesses alone are currently under-incentivized to halt and reverse nature loss, a multistakeholder approach can change priorities and catalyze investment flows into more sustainable practices. This is exemplified by “the Danish model”, predicated on close collaboration and partnership between business, government and civil society.
But how can broad partnerships lead to actions in the international setting with challenges such as the huge finance gap on biodiversity?
The discussions will cover examples from Denmark and Columbia and then transition to the international context, to share examples and best-practice on partnership to enable effective action on nature and biodiversity.
The event will be held at the Chamber of Commerce in sale 2 and 3 in Cali (Cámara de Comercio de Cali) on Saturday, October 26th from 5 PM-6 PM local time.
