Wide-ranging subjects

This year the Greenland Conference was launched with a lot fewer participants than normally. Though, +200 attended online. Due to Covid-19 a lot of the guest speakers attended online as well, but the event still managed to get well around the wide-ranging subjects within the opportunities in Greenland.

Only 7 percentages of the world's population live in Greenland. Therefore, it is appropriate to believe that business opportunities are small - if you take the statistics into consideration.

But through guest speakers, topics such as infrastructure, education, and jobs, green transition, entreprenuing the new coastal path, etc. clarified the importance of the Artic as a big business player.

The Arctic - a famous focal point

The Arctic race has for years been going on and superpowers like the United States, Russia, and China have all showed their interest in Greenland. Since Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, we still have an enormous amount to say.

This regards the Defence's role in Greenland as well, where especially the CEO and President of TERMA Group, Jes Munk Hansen made some curious points about how the situational awareness can be increased in Greenland. Technology and partnerships were his main focuses - both in military and civilian aspects.
