    About Serge:
    Serge Belongie is a professor of Computer Science and the head of the Danish Pioneer Centre for AI at the University of Copenhagen. He is an expert in computer vision and machine learning. He has co-founded several computer vision and object recognition startups, such as Digital Persona, Anchovi Labs, and Orpix3.

    He has received numerous awards and honors, including the MIT Technology Review Innovators under 35, the ICCV Helmholtz Prize, and the Sloan Research Fellowship.

    He is also a former member of the Visiting Faculty program at Google and the Associate Dean at Cornell Tech4.

    About The Pioneer Centre for AI:
    The Pioneer Centre for Artificial Intelligence focuses on fundamental research and develops platforms, methods, and practices addressing society’s greatest challenges within an interdisciplinary framework.

    Hosted by the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Computer Science, cooperating institutions, Denmark’s Technical University, IT University of Copenhagen, Aalborg University, and Aarhus University co-lead the efforts along with Director Professor Serge Belongie.
