Meet a member: B2B Auctions A/S

B2B Auctions is a Danish owned auction company where surplus goods are reused by giving them a new life with new owners. A collaboration with, among others, the Danish Defense (DALO) and the National Police is an important foundation for further development of the company, which is also conscious of its responsibility towards the green transition and reducing CO2 emissions.

Transparency, fairness, responsibility, and ethics are central values in the company's daily operations. Values that fit well with the Danish Defense and Police, who have chosen to sell their surplus material and retired vehicles through B2B Auctions' online auction platform. This has resulted in optimized earnings on surplus equipment and on equipment that was previously just thrown away.

Another important parameter in the collaboration with DALO, the Police, and private companies is the option to choose B2B Auctions' full-service process, which includes complete handling of sales items, and, in some cases, export documentation documents.

Security and Interforce
The company was established in 2008 by Gregers Hastrup, and the majority of the 15 employees work in Jyderup on Zealand. The company operates from 10.500 m2 warehouse and office buildings. In Jutland, B2B Auctions has large storage facilities from which most of the material in Jutland is handled.

B2B Auctions and its employees is approved for security clearance as part of the collaboration with DALO. Some of the employees have a background in the military and is still part of the reserve. Therefore, it is also natural to support InterForce, where the company's CEO Gregers Hastrup, is part of the business committee in Region Zealand.

Own Auction Manager
In 2017, Gregers Hastrup was appointed Auctioneer in Holbæk Judicial District by the Ministry of Justice. B2B Auctions is an approved auction house by both the Danish Tax Authorities and the Ministry of Justice. The company emphasizes its desire to deliver quality and transparency by being the only auction company in northern Europe that is ISO 9001-2015 certified and audited, and the company is on its way to an ISO 50001 certification as well.

The company operates solely in the Business-to-business (B2B) sector, with both privately owned companies and public authorities as its sellers. Municipalities, private companies, emergency services, government agencies, etc. uses B2B Auctions to extend the life of their surplus equipment with a new owner, and of course to capitalize on the surplus.

B2B Auctions only sells to buyers in countries approved by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and who do not have DK, EU or UN sanctions against them. All money transfers are thoroughly checked for money laundering by the company's bank and in B2B Auctions.

Corporate Social Responsibilities
Since 2014, B2B Auctions has included the scenario of war in its strategy, and as a result, CEO Gregers Hastrup decided in 2020 to switch dependence on gas supply with solar energy. Today, the company is 90% self-sufficient. The green transition is an important driver in the company, and since 2016, B2B Auctions has been among the 618 Danish companies that are currently members of the UN Global Compact, thereby committing to work for the green transition as well as engaging in an active effort against corruption and money laundering.

As part of the company's growth strategy, B2B Auctions has joined DI Defense and Security and looks forward to collaborating with this network.
