Our history
Ramboll is a value-based company with a strong belief in people’s inherent abilities. The company continues to be guided by the business model set out by our founders more than 70 years ago.
Børge Johannes Rambøll and Johan Georg Hannemann were professional colleagues at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and in 1945, they founded ‘Rambøll & Hannemann’. Over the next decades, what started as a small partnership evolved into a large international company. Our founders promoted awareness of the human dimension and left behind a legacy that emphasises high ethical standards, responsibility towards society, and satisfied employees. These are still the governing principles in Ramboll’s approach to business.
