World Energy Outlook 2023
Join the Danish launch event for a presentation by IEA’s Chief Energy Economist Tim Gould and discussions with Danish senior energy and climate leaders.
World Energy Outlook 2023 provides in-depth analysis and strategic insights into every aspect of the global energy system. Against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions and fragile energy markets, this year’s report explores how structural shifts in economies and in energy use are shifting the way that the world meets rising demand for energy.
The presentation by IEA’s Chief Energy Economist Tim Gould will provide an overview of global trends in energy supply, demand, investment, and geopolitical linkages. Further, perspectives on topics of urgent and strategic importance will be discussed with senior energy leaders and climate experts in two panels:
- Meeting the Energy Security Challenge. How to meet the growing global energy demand? What are the major shifts in supply and demand patterns? Can Europe deliver on its clean energy targets and effectively respond to a fragile energy world?
- Further and Faster - Expectations for COP28. With UN’s COP28 climate conference in Dubai just one week away, the expected outcomes of the COP will be analyzed. What needs to happen to keep the door to 1.5 °C open?
The WEO 2023 Launch Event Denmark is hosted by the Danish Energy Industries (DI Energy) in collaboration with State of Green and the International Energy Agency.
