We have a dedicated Defence & Security team advising Danish and international enterprises and institutions operating in the defence and security industry. We advise on procurement processes, defence contracts and export control as well as on IP law, joint ventures, mergers, and financing. The team's clients include, among others, financial institutions, manufacturers, satellite companies, technology companies, and developers of security information and communications systems both in Denmark and abroad, as well as the companies that invest in this industry.

Knowhow and expertise

We have experience in all relevant structures used by prime contractors within the defence and security industry, including joint ventures, shareholders’ agreements, consortia, and strategic alliances. We have extensive experience in advising on and drafting and negotiating all types of commercial contracts (among other things OEM, strategic cooperation, production and sales agreements). We have acted for prime contractors, consortium members and SPVs in DALO procurements and major programs for complex mission-critical assets.

Our Defence & Security team consists of partners and lawyers with extensive knowledge and experience in the defence and security industry. Several members of the team have many years of experience in the central administration, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Prime Minister’s Office. Our specialists are hand-picked from different practice areas to ensure a team that can provide the specialised advice that the defence and security industry requires. As a result, the team has a deep understanding of public regulation and extensive practical experience in handling cases at the intersection of public and private law, including regulatory reviews and investigations. Why we joined DI Danish Defence and Security Industries Association

Gorrissen Federspiel's Defence & Security team is a member of DI Danish Defence and Security Association in order to actively participate in the knowledge sharing that takes place within the industry association by providing advice and insight into the legal solutions or disputes that may arise when working with defence, dual-use products, exports or FDI investments. We are advising the Danish defence industry and continue to specialise our advice accordingly. Our aim is to help strengthen the Danish defence industry, to build bridges to the Danish and international defence authorities and to create the best framework for the industry to be competitive and increase its exports.
