Strong relations between Denmark and France

France is the 6^th largest economy in the world with almost 65 million consumers. The country is the 8^th biggest export for Danish companies amounting to 24.7 billion goods and 10.5 DKK billion for exports of services in 2018. In 2018, total Danish exports of goods and services to France increased by 10 % compared to 2017 and the French market still has an untapped potential for Danish companies.

Since his election in May 2017, President Emmanuel Macron has repeatedly voiced that his vision for France is highly inspired by the Danish model. President Macron’s state visit to Denmark in August 2018 was a clear testimony to this.

The royal visit to France accompanied by a business delegation provides an opportunity for Danish companies to build on the strong Franco-Danish relations and gain valuable knowledge and expand their market and network in France.

The program and the three sectors

While the 6 October is the introductory day, the program for 7-8 October will be divided into the three specific sectors to meet the needs of the participating companies to the highest degree possible. The sectors are

1)      Healthcare

The French Government is recently adopting a series of new policies and reforms in the Healthcare sector. This opens up for new opportunities for Danish Companies in the healthcare sector.

2)      Energy and sustainable cities

France is a very ambitious market in terms of energy transition and driving changes for more sustainable and efficient urban solutions.

3)      Sustainable lifestyle

Design and Fashion incarnates French culture and lifestyle. Denmark has a very strong brand recognition in France, in particular in the areas of fashion, design and furniture.
