Green Futures Summit: Navigating EU Funding for Innovations in Danish Industries

Get ready for our event that's set to reshape the future of green and digital industries by bridging the gap between the European funding opportunities and Danish innovation and businesses. Join us to delve into the realm of financing green industries in Denmark and the EU.

Danish Industry and the European Commission Representation in Denmark are inviting you to learn how Danish companies and stakeholders can access funding opportunities provided by the European Union to support technologies, innovation, and the scaling of green and digital industries.

The EU is facing a major twin transition on climate and digital towards 2030 and onwards towards climate neutrality in 2050. Embarking on this transition, the EU and Member States are eager to support projects and technologies to combat the energy and climate crisis. At the same time, our global value chains of production are getting a shake-up, where more industries are shifting towards diversifying and regionalizing to boost a robust and competitive European industry.

One of the key levers for competitiveness is the access to funding. However, historically, Denmark and Danish businesses have faced challenges in tapping into funding opportunities for industry development. For instance, the EU Innovation Fund, which targets projects within low-carbon technologies, distributed 16.7% to Swedish projects, 9.97% to Dutch projects, and 0% to projects in Denmark in the years 2021-2022.

We want to discuss how to scale green and digital innovative technologies in Denmark and ask what the role is of the EU, the Danish civil society and authorities and the Danish companies supplying many of the innovations necessary.

The event was held on January 24, 2024 with more than 170 participants. The program started with a plenary session followed by four deep-dives on specific funding opportunities.
