New City Development in Egypt and United Arab Emirates – District Cooling and Energy Solutions
Join an executive roundtable meeting to meet high-level executives from Egypt and the United Arab Emirates that are on study tour to Copenhagen with a particular focus on district cooling and energy. Both countries have ambitious sustainability goals and plans for urban developments.
Egypt and United Arab Emirates have ambitious plans for their economic and sustainable developments, and both countries set smart and green city solutions in the core of their development plans. Therefore, large new investments are taking place and further are under consideration and in the process of planning e.g. within district cooling, energy efficient buildings, water management, solar power, green mobility and many other initiatives.
In Egypt, 20 major city development projects are on their way, including a major pilot project for district cooling in El Alamein. UAE also have strong investment plans in this field and in other smart green technologies and pioneering solutions that can come into play for the benefit of citizen, environment, and economic development. In Egypt, many district cooling and energy investments are greenfield projects.
In United Arab Emirates, the district cooling and energy market is driven by the country’s commitment to achieve net-zero emission by 2050, making UAE the first Middle East and North Africa nation to do so. The market is mature and most investments are driven by brownfield projects, mainly commercial and residential.
