Memorandum of Understanding on creating a Circular Agriculture Sector marks 500 years of Groundbreaking Partnership between The Netherlands and Denmark

Join the online signing with the Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Carola Schouten and the Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Rasmus Prehn

500 years ago Danish King Christian II invited Dutch farmers to Denmark for their innovative agricultural skills. Today the two Kingdoms continue to build on this partnership and have specialized expertise to solve global challenges together and improve food systems through sustainable agriculture. The year 2021 will underline that the Netherlands and Denmark are innovative and high-tech partners in the Agrifood and Horticultural sectors.

The Memorandum of Understanding will establish a framework for mutually beneficial cooperation between the Netherlands and Denmark in the field of climate adaptation and mitigation of agriculture and food systems, including the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal.

Not only will this MoU encourage cooperation between policy makers and technical experts, it will also stimulate cooperation between scientific institutions, e.g. collaboration in applying for Horizon Europe funds, and partnerships between companies from both countries.
